Baked Brie with Pecans

1 small wheel of brie or camembert (approx. 9 ounces)
1/2 cup pecans - broken or chopped pieces
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup (real maple syrup is best)
cracker or sliced baguette bread

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place cheese on rimmed baking sheet, bake until softened - about 15-20 minutes.
Transfer cheese wheel to a serving plate.
Cool about 20 minutes.
While cheese cools, place nuts on a separate baking dish and toast about 7-10 minutes. Do not burn.
Take nuts out of oven and sprinkle on top of brie.
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and maple syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Simmer until a little foamy.
Remove from heat and drizzle warm sauce over slightly cooled cheese and nuts.
Serve with your favorite crackers.
